PRODUCTION OF FABRICS & FURTHER PROCESSING
In Albstadt, the center of the Swabian knitting industry, we can proudly look back on a long history of textile production. Thanks to the great location we have everything locally. Most of the fabrics are knitted by ourselves. Dyeing and bleaching is done by local partners.
KNITTING
The knitting mill – the heart of our company. It is the key to the quality of our fabrics. Because 85 % of the fabrics we are using for our garments are knitted by ourselves – here in Albstadt. Because the knitting is our core competence – ever since. Many of the own-made knittings are Conzelmann creations, developed exclusively for our Nina von C brand. Our main focus of attention is the quality and sustainability of the yarns. Which means that we mainly use European products and the cotton yarns have been organically certified. Of course, all our fabrics have the OEKO-TEX® certificate.
FINISHING
The yarns and the fabrics start of naturally colored. In order to make them shine in either pure white or various colors they are then dyed or bleached. For the bleaching of the fabrics, an environmental-friendly hydrogen peroxide bleaching (H2O) is used instead of a chloride bleaching. Dyeing is effected only with contamination and heavy metal free dye stuff, guaranteed by long-term local partners. This keeps the transportation routes short and top quality is guaranteed by the direct contact. We always keep in mind the „Blue Design“ and the „OEKO-TEX®“ terms of reference for a responsible and sustainable textile production.
CUTTING
Layer by layer is rolled out automatically, tension free. Hands intervene only when necessary. Thanks to two fully automated cutters we are in a position to keep the fabric consumption and consequently the offcuts as low as possible. Under vacuum the cleverly-devised layouts are cut fully automatically. Another advantage is the high precision. Parts are put together precisely which enables even smaller pieces to be perfectly cut out.
